Many of us used Prezi last year, and I think it's a great tool for students to use. This prezi shows many strategies that make it useful - things to try and things to avoid. The author was showing how it could be used as a teaching tool, and rightly so, but many of the tips he gives are ones students should know as well. (Especially the one about "annoying" people.)
Here's an example created by the fourth graders last year. Each student was responsible for one location in Wisconsin. We created the prezi with the large map of Wisconsin and the cut-outs of the locations. The students then entered their selected images and descriptions.
