If you every wanted to watch YouTube videos in class but were wary of the related videos* and advertisements, ViewPure is just the tool. Simply:
- Copy the address of the desired YouTube video
- Go to the ViewPure website
- Paste the address into the "Pure Video Viewing" bar
- Click create.
ViewPure then shows the video exactly as it appears on YouTube, but stripped of all the excess - related videos, comments, advertisements, promoted videos, etc. You get just a blank white screen with your video in the center. (Ironically, however, there are advertisements across the bottom of the ViewPure homepage, but after reloaded the page a couple times, nothing offensive appeared.)
Thanks to Free Tech 4 Teachers for the idea.
*Last Christmas I was showing a video of a Christmas song. One of the related videos was something stupid about reindeer farting Christmas carols. Once that related video was spotted by a keen eyed youngster, the original intent of the viewing was lost. Needless to say,
ViewPure would have been a welcome tool to know about.
